An interesting Eastern Conference matchup on Tuesday night in the NBA sees the Milwaukee Bucks hosting the Washington Wizards at the Fiserv Forum. The Bucks have slipped down to third in the East after a poor run of results over the past two weeks. Their 118-95 home loss against these same Wizards in their last outing means that the 2020/21 champions have now lost five of their last six games. The Bucks now hold a record of 23 wins and 13 losses and are still in very good shape as we approach the halfway point in the season despite their recent struggles. Although they just lost against the Wizards on their home court, two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo didn’t take the floor in that game and is expected to return here. They were also without Middleton and Holiday, two very influential cogs in the Milwaukee machine.  With his daunting presence on the floor, it’s understandable as to why the oddsmakers have the hosts as significant favorites.

Standing in their way is a Wizards team looking to keep their excellent winning run going. The Wiz have now won five games on the bounce which is their longest winning streak of the season following the aforementioned win against the Bucks in their last appearance. The strong run has Washington right back into the playoff pictures with 17 wins and 21 losses on the season putting them in 10th-place in the East. It’s the defense that has really stepped it up for Washington in recent games and is the catalyst for their recent winning ways. The Wizards have limited their opponents to under 100 points on average over the last three games (99 points allowed).
