Millwall made a slow start last season and then went on a fantastic run that nearly took them into the play-offs. This term they have made an even worse start and are in the relegation zone of the Championship with only six points from nine games, Yet this is a team that earned five points from their first three games including drawing with Middlesbrough and beating Derby County, Since then six games have produced a single point, though four have  been played away from home and the two home matches were against Swansea City and Leeds United. The Carabao Cup gives them a chance to get away from the stresses of league football but they had to go to penalties to get past Gillingham in the first round and then beat Plymouth 3-2 at home despite trailing 2-1 with seven minutes to go. 

Fulham won promotion from the Championship last season and had a vital 3-0 away win at Millwall in April. They haven't made a great start to life in the Premier League and are 15th with five points from six games, three points above the bottom three. They have lost two of their three away games in the Premier League this season losing to Tottenham and Manchester City so this trip to Millwall is a lot easier for them and they have tons of experience of playing against Championship sides. Teams will be different from normal as is the case in this competition but Fulham should have the class to get the win here.
