by Ian John in Championship Predictions
Injury-hit Middlesbrough host managerless Hull City in the Championship this weekend with both teams having key issues for this match. The Smoggies have been hit hard by illness and injury, while the Tigers sacked manager Tim Walter after their fourth defeat in a row in midweek. What’s our prediction going to be for this Championship battle?
Michael Carrick’s Middlesbrough had been in sensational form with consecutive big wins over QPR (4-1), Luton Town (5-1) and Oxford United (6-2). However, after being hit by illness and injury in midweek, they succumbed to a 1-0 home defeat to Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night.
That left Middlesbrough sixth in the Championship table after 17 games. Although they are 16 places higher in their table than their struggling opponents.
Hull City parted ways with manager Tim Walter after their fourth successive loss dropped them to 22nd in the table. The Tigers have won just three games this season out of 17 and they currently have the worst form over the last five games of any team in the Championship.
Goalscoring has been an issue for Hull City, with the second fewest number of goals scored (16) in their 17 Championship league games this season. Only QPR and Cardiff City (15) have found the net less often.

Our Middlesbrough vs Hull Prediction
Our prediction for the Middlesbrough vs. Hull City Championship match is: Emmanuel Latte Lath (Middlesbrough) to score at any time.
The Ivorian forward has been in sensational goalscoring form of late, including scoring a hat-trick away to Oxford last weekend. Middlesbrough drew a blank against Blackburn in midweek with an illness and injury hit team. If they can get a couple of those players back for the weekend, then they should win this comfortably. And if they do then Latte Lath is a great value bet to score at any time.
Prediction :
Emmanuel Latte Lath (Middlesbrough) to score at any time.
