Middlesbrough are sixth in the Championship and pushing for promotion back to the Premier League. They host Burton Albion who were relegated from the Championship last season and are down in 15th in League One. A win for Boro will see them through to the semi-final of the Carabao Cup but they come into this game not in the best of form. Saturday saw them lose 2-1 away to QPR in the Championship leaving them eight points adrift of the automatic promotion places. That's four league games without a win for them and at home the goals haven't been flowing for them. Only four goals have been scored by them in their last seven home league games and nine of their last ten home league games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. It was tight in the last round of this competition as they beat Crystal Palace 1-0.

Burton Albion have never reached this far in the Carabao Cup but also aren't in the best of form. They have lost three of their last four league games and are down to 15th in League One only seven points above the relegation zone. They may well have their minds on this game and have already caused three shocks this season. Burton have beaten Premier League Burnley and Championship sides Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest but all three of those results came at home. This should be a thrilling cup tie and the tip here is for under 2.5 goals to be scored.
