Game three of the NBA Finals sees the Miami Heat hosting the Denver Nuggets. The series is all tied up at 1-1 following Miami’s nail-biting 111-108 win over the Nuggets in the Pepsi Center in game two. We now return to South Beach for games three and four with the Heat looking to take a 2-1 series lead on their home court. For Denver, they will have to win at least one of the next two games to take back home court advantage before heading back to the Mile High City for game five.

Miami shot the ball well in game two, sinking 17 of their 35 three-pointers. They also implemented an effective strategy of trying to take away the passing game of Nikola Jokic. The result was the Serbian scoring 41 points but being held to only four assists. Don’t be surprised if Miami looks to do something similar here. For the Heat, the game two win was only their second in the past six games. Miami will try to feed off the home crowd at the Kaseya Center, where they have posted a 27-14 record in the regular season and a 6-2 record in these 2023 NBA Playoffs. 

The Denver Nuggets come into this clash off the back of their first loss in the past eight games. The loss snapped a seven game winning streak for Denver and also dealt them their first home loss of the playoffs. Denver thrived off of their home form this season but struggled to put up consistent away results. The Nuggets finished the regular season with only a 19-22 away record, although that mark improves to 4-3 in this postseason run. Denver will likely try to pick up the pace in game three as their 75 field goal attempts in game two was their lowest of the entire playoffs.
