The Washington Wizards will travel to face the LA Lakers for their next NBA regular season matchup. Washington are currently second from bottom in the Eastern Conference while the Lakers are ninth in the West. The Lakers coming off an impressive and exciting 116-112 victory over city rivals the Clippers. Trailing going into the fourth quarter, Darvin Ham’s men whipped out a 21-point deficit to win 116-112. LeBron James led the comeback and poured in 34 points with 19 of those coming in the final 12 minutes. The win was the Lakers’ 32nd of the season and took them to four games above .500. LA are now three games from an automatic playoff spot. They will continue to be without Jarred Vanderbilt, Christian Wood and Gabe Vincent due to injuries. The Lakers, who are averaging 116.9 points, have won five of their last seven games. They also have won three of the last four matchups with Washington.

The Washington Wizards are reeling and come to this match having lost their last 12 games. Brian Keefe’s men, who are embarking on a three-game road trip to the West, are coming off a home loss to the Warriors. They were defeated 123-112 and now possess the longest losing record at present in the league. This has seen them tie the Pistons for the worst record this season. If they lose here again, they could hold this record outright. Washington have lost 49 of the 58 games they have played. Twenty-four of their defeats have come away from home while another 17 have come in 20 matchups with teams from the West. Bilal Coulibaly and Isaiah Livers have both been ruled out of this trip. Deni Avdija, their third-leading scorer, has been listed as ‘Questionable’. The Wizards are a decent scoring team and are averaging 114.3 points a night. Their defence however is what is derailing them and is the worst in the NBA, as teams are averaging 124.2 points against them.
