The Los Angeles Lakers did not get off to the right footing following the All-Star break. The hosts suffered a rare 100-97 home defeat against the Charlotte Hornets.
The Lakers' response to that setback is a three-match winning streak in the NBA. The most recent of those wins was against the Dallas Mavericks winning 107-99 at home.
Heading into this match they've been in excellent form at home. They have eight wins to their name in the last nine outings. In their previous home match against the Minnesota Timberwolves, they eked out a 110-103 and will be eyeing a similar result in this one.
The Minnesota Timberwolves is also one of the sides that did not have a great start to the NBA regular season following the All-Star break. They lost two consecutive matches against the Rockets and the Thunder.
However, they snapped that losing run with a hard-fought 131-128 away victory (overtime) against the highly-favoured Oklahoma City Thunder.
