Brendan Rogers returns to his former club when Liverpool entertain Leicester at Anfield in this quarter final match in the EFL Cup. This is a golden opportunity for these team to add some with silverware after the Manchester clubs were knocked out in the previous round. Liverpool will be keen to get their hands on the trophy they last lifted in 2012. They come into this match on the back of a 2-2 league draw with Tottenham. This draw ended a run of eight consecutive wins across all competitions. Their record at Anfield is even more impressive going 23 games unbeaten at home. Their last home loss was in March when they lost to Fulham. It remain to be seen if Jurgen Klopp fields his strongest team as their primary focus remains the Premier League and the Champions League.

Leicester had their last match against Everton postponed due to Covid cases in their team. They remain in ninth spot on the table with 22 points. They will be looking for a change of fortunes ahead of their match at Anfield as they have failed to win at Liverpool in their last ten matches with eight defeats and two draws. Leicester did however have an excellent 4-0 win over Newcastle in their last completed match which brought to an end a run of three successive matches without a win. They are without a win in their last four away matches with their last win coming in October against Brentford.
