Levski Sofia and AZ Alkmaar will clash in an interesting playoff clash in the 2025-26 UEFA Conference League. The first-leg match will be held on Thursday at the neutral venue of National Stadium Vasil Levski, and our prediction is under 2.5 goals. The winner of this two-legged tie will move to the league stage.
Levski started in the first qualifying round of the Europa League this season and dropped to this competition after losing in the second qualifier. A 3-0 aggregate win over Sabah in the previous round got them a ticket to the playoffs. AZ won two rounds of qualifiers in this competition against Ilves and Vaduz to reach this stage.
The Bulgarians are coming off a 0-0 away draw last weekend, which ended their run of four consecutive wins in all competitions. Four of those games saw them keep a clean sheet with only one goal conceded in aggregate, so it’s their defensive prowess that could be a key to their success.
AZ are also coming off a draw, a 2-2 stalemate away from home in their Eredivisie fixture at the weekend. That was their first draw after three consecutive wins, but with eight defeats in their last 11 away matches in UEFA competitions (W1, D2, L8), they have a lot to do on this trip.
