Leicester Tigers will be going all-out to get their first win in this season's European Champions Rugby Cup. The English Premiership side host second-placed Sharks in Pool 1 with their opponents five points ahead of them. Can the Tigers narrow the gap? Here's our match prediction.
The Tigers had a tough opening match and lost 42-28 at Bordeaux Begles last weekend. No bonus point was earned and they are five points behind Stade Toulousain, Sharks and Bordeaux Begles. Also without a point in this pool are Ulster and Exeter Chiefs.
Leicester are third in the English Premiership with five wins and two defeats. They have won two and lost one at home this season with wins over Northampton Saints and Gloucester but being beaten by Bath who top the table. Last season saw them lose in the last 16 of this competition.
Sharks won the European Rugby Challenge Cup last season, earning them a place in this competition. They defeated Exeter Chiefs (bottom of the English Premiership) last weekend 39-21 at home. They are sixth in the United Rugby Championship with four wins and a couple of defeats. On the road, they have had one win but lost their other two fixtures. We tip Leicester to win this on a -12 points handicap.
