Leicester City and Arsenal meet in the third round of the EFL Cup at the King Power Stadium in midweek. Both teams come into this game in flying form with each boasting two wins from two English Premier League games. Arsenal started their EPL campaign with a 3-0 win at Fulham before following it up with a less convincing 2-1 win at home to West Ham that leaves them third. Leicester also began their season with a 3-0 victory at the stadium of a newly-promoted club, West Brom being their victims. They followed this up with a 4-2 home win over Burnley at the weekend that put them top of the table. Leicester are unbeaten in three matches against Arsenal. They have a particular good home record against the Gunners in recent seasons, winning three and drawing one of their last four clashes on home turf. Much of their good fortune in this fixture has been thanks to the goalscoring prowess of Jamie Vardy. The veteran forward loves playing Arsenal, scoring 10 goals in 11 appearances against the North London side. Arsenal have a hotshot of their own when it comes to encounters with Leicester, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hitting four goals in four games vs the Foxes.

Given the fixture congestion that all top-flight teams are coping with, there is a big chance neither side will field their star men. Both teams have the kind of depth one would expect of clubs battling for European places. In recent seasons, both have reached the latter stages regularly with Arsenal contesting the final in 2018 and Leicester reaching the last four a few months ago.
