Le Havre and Lille will meet this weekend in the French Ligue 1, as both teams seek to rise again. Recent struggles have left these two teams just a point apart in the league standings. Read on for our preview and prediction of the match.

Hosts Le Havre tried but could not sustain a comeback against Monaco in their last game. Daler Kuzyaev’s goal saw the two sides go to half time at 1-1 but Le Havre dropped in the second half, and lost 3-1.

That marked a second straight loss for Didier Digard’s team and he will welcome a return home. In their last home match, Le Havre posted a 3-1 win against Auxerre. It will be tougher against Lille but Le Havre will be motivated by Lille’s own struggles.

Lille are coming here on a winless run of five matches. They started the season undefeated in five matches, winning four of them but things have changed drastically.

Once Lille tasted the first loss of the season, away to Slavia Prague, they’ve been poor both domestically and in Europe. After a four-match losing run, they looked like they’d turned a corner in the last match, hosting Strasbourg.

The in-form Edon Zhegrova put Lille to a 2-0 first half lead but they soon found themselves trailing in the game. It took a late Jonathan David penalty to save Lille as the match ended 3-3.

Earlier in the season Lille had posted three straight clean sheets but recent numbers depict a side seriously struggling. In four of the last five matches, Lille conceded two or more goals.
