LA Clippers vs Phoenix Suns Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA

by Joseph King | in NBA Prediction

The NBA Playoffs continue with game four of the Western Conference first round as the Los Angeles Clippers look to pull the series back to 2-2 when they host the Phoenix Suns. The Clippers conceded home court advantage back to the Phoenix Suns after losing game three 129-124 to fall down 2-1 in the series, rendering their game one upset obsolete. They’ll now be faced with winning in Phoenix if they are to advance to a second round matchup against either the Denver Nuggets or Minnesota Timberwolves. However, first they’ll have to focus on evening up the series in game four or they could be facing a seemingly insurmountable 3-1 deficit against the favorites to advance from the West. The big news in the Clippers camp is the status of superstar Kawhi Leonard. The decorated forward injured his knee in game one, gutted it out in game two, but will ultimately miss game three and now game four. Along with the absence of their other star Paul George, Leonard’s injury will likely spell the end of Los Angeles’ hopes of an upset.

On the other side, Suns fans are experiencing what life is like with their star-studded lineup all healthy and playing good basketball. The combination of Durant, Booker, Paul and Ayton makes Phoenix arguably the team to beat in these playoffs, certainly in the West as the bookmakers have the Suns as the third favorites to win the title behind the Bucks and the Celtics. Things appear to be clicking for Durant and company who have now scored 120+ in back-to-back games against a talented Clippers defense. Additionally, Phoenix could see the return of backup point guard Cam Payne who would add some much needed depth to the second unit. The Suns are now 10-1 in games with Kevin Durant and are averaging 120.7 points in these playoffs so far.

Our LA Clippers vs Phoenix Suns Prediction

Missing Kawhi takes a big chunk out of the Clippers defensive potential as the Klaw is among the very best defenders in the league. That’s certainly not what LA would have wanted when coming up against a team with as many weapons as the Suns have. It’s hard to imagine Los Angeles slowing down this Phoenix team who appear to be finding their groove. However, we still expect the Clippers to have some success on the offensive side of the ball as head coach Ty Lue has shown that he can get high offensive production out of his small-ball lineup. This one should be a shootout with the Suns ultimately taking a 3-1 series lead. Our Los Angeles Clippers vs Phoenix Suns prediction: over 226.5 points
