LA Clippers are just one win away from the Western Conference final. They lead the Denver Nuggets 3-1 and their opponents need to win all three of the remaining fixtures. It's likely to be an all Los Angeles final if they do qualify, with the Lakers 3-1 up in their semi-final against the Houston Rockets. The Clippers are the second seeds in the Western Conference (behind the Lakers) with a 49-23 regular season record. In the first round of the play-offs, they defeated the Dallas Mavericks 4-2, while opponents Denver had to go all the way to beat Utah Jazz 4-3. This best-of-seven semi-final saw the Clippers get off to a good start with a 23-point win in the first match. Denver fought back well though to level the scores thanks mainly to a storming first quarter in which they scored 44 points.

The Nuggets went into the third quarter of the third match with a four point lead. However, the Clippers weren't ready to go 2-1 down and won the final quarter by ten points to take the lead. They began the fourth match by winning the opening quarrter by 14 points and although the rest of the game was closely fought, the Clippers ran out winners by 11 points. Now it's the point of no return for the Nuggets. The Clippers have won five of their last six matches and can make it six out of seven with a win here and earn a place in the conference final.
