The LA Clippers are battling hard to catch up with the Lakers in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. They look to close the gap with a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers who are struggling in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference with a 10-17 record. The Clippers are doing much better than that with a 19-8 season record and have won eight of their 12 home games this season. They are third in the Western Conference, so will again make it into the play-offs. The Clippers are going for a third straight win after victories over Minnesota and Chicago in recent days. Khawi Leonard is in top form with 69 points in those two wins. Their last two home games have been lost but this is an ideal opportunity to get back on track.

The Cavaliers are 13th overall in the Eastern Conference but only a win behind a wild card play-off place. If they are to improve their overall position they need to improve their record on the road. They have only won three of their 13 games this season and that is likely to become 3-11 after this match. Their most recent game saw them lose by 19 points to the Portland Trail Blazers. That was their sixth straight loss and some have been rather heavy losses with Denver beating them by 38 points last week and Milwaukee beating them by a 25 point margin. Their last win was at the start of this month with a narrow win over Minnesota. Another loss looms here, go for the Clippers to win on a -7 point handicap.
