Another season and again Juventus are top of Serie A as they bid to win the title for the eighth year in a row. They are the only team that have a 100% record after three games and lead the table by two points from their opponents in this game. The season nearly started with a defeat though as they trailed 2-1 at Chievo before coming back to win 3-2 with a 93rd minute winner.  They followed that up with a comfortable 2-0 home win over Lazio, no goal from new signing Cristiano Ronaldo but he did get an assist for the second goal in this match. Their second away league game of the season was away at Parma and they won that one 2-1 with Matuidi scoring the second-half winner. Home form stats are a bit daunting for Juventus with only two defeats in the last 57 home league games. They have never lost at home in Serie A to Sassuolo and beat them 7-0 at home last season.

Sassuolo finished 11th in Serie A last season, just the 52 points behind Juventus. They have made a strong start to this season and beat Inter 1-0 at home in their opening fixture thanks to a 27th minute penalty. They next played Cagliari away and had to come from behind twice to earn a point with the second equalizer being a 99th minute penalty. More goals followed in their third league fixture as they beat Genoa 5-3 at home going a goal down but then scoring five times in a period of 28 minutes before conceding two late goals. They are top scorers in the league but only three sides have conceded more and that latter fact doesn't bode well for them this weekend. Go for a home win with Juventus leading at both half and full time.
