Jessica Pegula won the last two meetings with Swiatek and, in total, has won five times in this fixture. She has a very strong chance of coming out on top once again, given the sort of sublime season she is having on clay.

The world number five, who has lost just five times in 33 matches this term, is 9-1 on clay. Yet to drop a set in the Italian capital, Pegula outlasted the qualifier Anastasia Potapova in the last round.
