The first round of the ATP Vienna Open sees American JJ Wolf facing off against Czech Republic native Jiri Lehecka. The winner of this matchup will advance to the round of 16 where they will take on either Roman Safiullin or eighth-seeded Karen Khachanov. Jiri Lehecka is in a real rut at the moment and did not look good in his most recent performance. The 21-year-old looked like he would rather have been somewhere else in the first round of the Stockholm Open last week. As a result, Lehecka was soundly beaten in straight sets by 165th-ranked Dino Prizmic. The latest defeat means that Lehecka has now lost his last three in a row with his last victory coming at the end of September in the Astana Open. JJ Wolf comes into this matchup in a fairly good run of form. He was defeated in the second-round of the Stockholm Open by 35th-ranked Laslo Djere but was able to defeat Winston-Salem Open champion Sebastian Baez in the first-round. Prior to that, Wolf made a strong run to the fourth-round of the Shanghai Open, recording wins over Cachin, 18th-ranked Cameron Norrie and 43rd-raked Arnaldi along the way. The American’s best finishes of the year were a pair of semi-final appearances, the first at the Dallas Open and the second at the Atlanta Open in July.
