Tallon Griekspoor is recovering from a terrible run at the start of the year. He lost his first four matches played in 2026, all played on outdoor hard courts. Finally he got back into winning ways in indoor events with quarter-finals in Montpellier and Rotterdam.
Last year saw him reach the semi-finals in this tournament and that included defeating top seed Daniil Medvedev.
He's going well again in Dubai this year with a couple of victories over Otto Virtanen and second seed Alexander Bublik, both in straight sets. He's now 29th in the live rankings, 17 below Mensik.
