The Washington Wizards will look to halt their current losing run in the NBA when they play away to the Indiana Pacers next. Washington is second from bottom in the Eastern Conference, 15 games behind sixth-placed Indiana. The Pacers are coming off an impressive 133-131 win over the best team in the league the Boston Celtics. It was a statement win highlighting the red-hot form the team has been in recently. Rick Carlisle’s men, who were without star guard Tyrese Haliburton for majority of the game, have won seven of their last eight fixtures. The win moved them to six games above .500. Indiana possesses the best-ranked offence in the NBA and is averaging 128.4 points when at home. They won the first meeting of the season with the Wizards by 23 points which was their first match of the campaign. Haliburton will be unavailable for this match and is set to miss considerable time with a hamstring issue.
The Washington Wizards won last time out against the Pacers. Since then they have won only twice in 12 outings and are currently on a five-game losing streak. Wes Unseld’s men will be hoping to rise to the occasion again against their soon-to-be hosts. Having Haliburton out injured should have the visitors a bit more confident of winning. The Wizards were defeated 136-128 last time out away to the Thunder. It was their 30th loss of the season and this return after 36 games is the third worst record so far. Washington, who has no injury concerns coming into this match, is giving up an average of 126.3 points a night.
