The Eastern Conference’s sixth-place Indiana Pacers host the West’s fifth-placed Phoenix Suns for this Friday matchup in the NBA. The Pacers are coming off a terrific 134-122 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, putting an end to their three-game losing streak while also snapping Philly’s six-game winning streak in the process. The result leaves Indiana with a 25-20 record and a one-game lead over the Heat for the crucial sixth-seed. The top six seeds in each conference qualify automatically for the postseason while seventh and eighth have to go through the play-in tournament. The Pacers pulled off the victory in their last game despite being without star point guard Tyrese Haliburton. Newly-acquired Pascal Siakam led the scoring with 26 points but Indiana also had seven players score double-digits. The Pacers will have to deal with playing the second leg of a back-to-back but will have at least played both on home soil.

The scorching Suns are the holders of the current longest active winning streak in the league at seven games. Their most recent outing saw a fantastic overall performance as the team blew out the Dallas Mavericks on their home court to the tune of 134-109. Recent performances by the Suns’ trio of stars shows why this team is such a dangerous threat going forward. The Suns’ last four games have seen Devin Booker have 46 and 52 point games and Kevin Durant drop 40 and 43 points. This is in addition to a steady 18.1 provided by Bradley Beal on an efficient 51% from the field and 39% from three. If the big three of the Suns can stay healthy, we’re likely going to see them in the latter stages of the Western Conference playoffs. As things currently stand, Phoenix has a 26-18 record and sits fifth in the standings.
