A Sunday afternoon matchup in the NBA sees the Eastern Conference’s sixth-placed Indiana Pacers taking on the West’s 13th-place team in the Memphis Grizzlies. The Pacers come into this contest in a good run of form as they were able to snap out of a three game losing streak with back-to-back wins. Not only that, but the two victories came against two of the NBA’s best in the 76ers and the Suns. The most recent win saw Indiana overturn a nine-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter to ultimately grab a 133-131 win and end the Suns’ previous seven game winning run. They’ll now close out their four-game homestand against Memphis before hitting the road to take on the Boston Celtics on Tuesday. The hosts are still without star point guard Tyrese Haliburton who has missed the team’s last four in a row and nine of the last 10 overall. 

The Grizzlies find themselves on a hot streak with three consecutive wins and four wins from their last six overall. It’s one of the team’s best runs in what has been a difficult season overall. With a record of 18 wins and 27 losses, Memphis is a world away from where they were last season when they finished with the number one seed in the West. The suspension and subsequent season-ending injury to star point guard Ja Morant was a blow that Memphis ultimately was unable to cope with from the start of the season. They would also see their second-leading scorer in Desmond Bane go down recently who is set to miss his eighth straight game. Memphis held on to a 107-106 home victory over the Orlando Magic after Joe Ingles rimmed out a three at the buzzer.
