The San Antonio Spurs will be out in search of a third successive NBA win when they play away to the Houston Rockets. They sit bottom of the Western Conference and trail 12th-placed Houston by 13.5 games. The Rockets are coming off an impressive 118-109 victory over the Suns in Phoenix. They had lost the first game of a back-to-back with the Suns and the win ended a three-game skid. Houston’s last six matches have all been against teams faring much better than them in the West. Now they face a team below them and they will be confident of a win. Ime Udoka’s men did win the second matchup of the season with the Spurs at home back in December. The Rockets do not have any new injuries to report with Tari Eason and Steven Adams still long-term absentees. Houston have compiled a 26-34 record and are averaging 112.8 points a night.

The Spurs are in excellent form at the moment and come to this game having won their last two fixtures. Greg Popovich’s men will now seek to ride this momentum and win three successive games for the first time this season. The Spurs have been one of the whipping boys this season and currently possess the third-worst record. They have lost 48 times and only won 13 of 61 outings. One of their wins though was against Houston in the first encounter of the campaign. They won an intense battle 126-122 in OT to register their first win of the season. A second win here will see them move 2-1 up in this series with one game left to play. Victor Wembanyama and Julian Champagne have both been listed as ‘Questionable’ for this trip. Wembanyama scored 31 last time out to lead all other scorers on the floor in the Spurs 117-105 victory over the Pacers.
