The Houston Rockets will welcome the Phoenix Suns for their next NBA regular season fixture. Houston is currently eighth in the Western Conference, 1.5 games above 11th-placed Phoenix. The Rockets have stuttered in recent weeks and have lost four times in their last six games. Ime Udoka’s men were defeated 123-117 last time out by the Pacers to see a two-game winning run ended. It was only their third defeat at home this season and they will be eager to not suffer another so soon. Houston, who are averaging 112.9 points a game when at home, are now two games above .500. On the defensive end however they are one of the league’s best and sit second in this category. They are holding teams to 101.8 points when at home. As this is the second game of a back-to-back, the team’s latest injury report is yet to be revealed.

The Phoenix Suns are in a rut and in their last 12 fixtures, have won just three times. For a team that promised so much when it was assembled at the beginning of the season, this is unacceptable for them. A team that has two of its players in the top 10 for points is struggling to be an above .500 side. The Suns have won once in the last six outings and are currently on a three-game losing run. They were defeated 128-114 last time out in a Christmas Day matchup with the Mavericks at home. The loss left them a game below .500 and out of the playoff places. Phoenix has played a bit better away from home and this could be a reprieve for them coming into this match. Bradley Beal remains sidelined with an ankle injury while Jusuf Nurkic could be available here after missing the last two matches.
