A Western Conference clash in this Sunday evening NBA clash sees the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves battling it out with the playoff picture still wide open. The congested nature of the West means that each one of the seven remaining regular season games is going to carry major significance. Teams currently sitting fourth all the way to 11th are all separated by a margin of just three games, meaning there is still plenty that can change as we head into the home stretch. The Warriors currently find themselves sitting sixth with a record of 39 wins and 36 losses. This puts them just slightly above their opponents tonight who sit seventh in the standings. Golden State will be hoping to take advantage of its superb home court advantage here as the team has won an impressive 30 games and lost only seven at the Chase Center. This puts the Dubs right up there with the Grizzlies, Nuggets and Bucks for the best home records in the entire NBA. 

The Timberwolves come to San Fran hoping to close the gap on the Warriors as their current seeding would mean they have to compete in the play-in tournament. There’s still time left to move up in the standings as Minnesota’s record of 37 wins and 37 losses has them trailing the fifth-place Suns and sixth-place Warriors by just 1.5 games. They’ll have to watch their backs as well as the Lakers and Pelicans can both leapfrog them with a win should they lose here. The Twolves are coming off back-to-back wins after a 140-134 away win over New York on Monday which was followed up with a slim 125-124 home win over Atlanta on Wednesday. The Warriors have been on a good run themselves though, with the Dubs ripping off three straight wins after an impressive 120-112 home win over the 76ers.
