The third-place game of the Eurobasket tournament sees semifinalists Germany taking on Poland at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin. Both teams had their dreams of a Eurobasket gold medal dashed in their respective semifinal matchups; Germany falling 96-91 to Spain while Poland suffered a heavy 95-54 loss. Poland were the surprise team of the tournament, knocking out Ukraine in the round of 16 before causing a huge upset with the elimination of tournament favorites Slovenia in the quarterfinal. Unfortunately for the Poles, they ran into a France team that were finally able to play to their full potential.
