The final match in the afternoon session on Day 3 at the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship will see Gary Anderson facing off against Adam Hunt. The winner of this match between the Flying Scotsman and The Hunter will meet either Connor Scutt or Simon Whitlock in the second round. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Gary Anderson needs little introduction. His career spans over two decades, and he is a two-time world champion (2015 and 2016) and has reached the semi-finals seven times.
The Flying Scotsman defended his title at the Elten Safety Shoes European Darts Grand Prix this year and racked up his 30th Players Championship title (event 7). He also reaced the final at the Baltic Sea Darts Open.
However, Anderson has not been at his absolute best of late, having failed to get beyond the group stage at the Grand Slam of Darts. He is 4-6 in his last 10 matches.
Meanwhile, after failing to qualify for the last three World Championships, Adam Hunt is returning to the Ally Pally this year. He got to the second round in his last two appearances at this competition.
The Hunter has not had a great year outside of the PDC’s secondary tours. He did not get further than the last 32 in any of the Players Championship events and only managed the last 64 at the UK Open.
Hunt has won five and lost five of his last 10 matches, but did beat this opponent in their only previous encounter back in June.
