France are in the driving seat at the top of World Cup Qualifying Group D. With two games to play, France top the group, three points ahead of visitors Ukraine. Can Les Bleus clinch their place in next year's finals? Read our match prediction below.
It's all going well for France in this group. They remain unbeaten and will be in the play-offs but will want to finish top of the group and automatically qualify for the finals in North America next summer. With a three point lead and having already beaten Ukraine on their travels, France are on their way to the finals. Even if they were to lose this game, their final group fixture is away at bottom-side Azerbaijan next week.
Ukraine have the handicap of still not being able to play their home fixtures in their own country. They are second in the group, three points ahead of third placed Iceland who they 'host' in Poland in their final game. Even if they lose here, Ukraine should retain their hopes of qualifying for the first time since 2006.

France have won three of their four games in this group. Their first three matches all ended in victory and their campaign began with a vital 2-0 away win against Ukraine with a goal in each half.
Wins against Iceland (after trailing) and Azerbaijan followed. Their winning run ended when being held to a 2-2 draw in Iceland, a game in which they both trailed and led. France are unbeaten in their last five matches since being beaten by Spain in the Nations League.
Ukraine made a poor start to this group.
Ukraine have it all to do if they want to win this group and automatically qualify for the finals. They are in second place, three points adrift of France. They have been playing catch-up ever since losing to France in their opening group fixture.
An away draw in Azerbaijan (after leading) hurt them even more before wins over Iceland and Azerbaijan. They will need to tighten up at the back as four goals have been conceded in their last two fixtures. Only three of their last seven games have been won.

France have some injury problems ahead of this qualifier against Ukraine. Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue are both going to be missing for the home side. A further blow came when Randal Kolo Muani was injured playing for Tottenham.
Kante makes his return for France.
The injuries mean a recall for N'Golo Kante who helped France win the World Cup seven years ago. He's been showing impressive form in Saudi Arabia for Al-Ittihad. Rayan Cherki has also been impressing for Manchester City in recent weeks as had Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.
France will have Kylian Mbappe fit for this game and he scored in the first three games that Les Bleus played in this group.
Ukraine will be without Artem Dovbyk for this trip to Paris. He injured his hip at the weekend playing for Roma in Serie A.
