France host Fiji in this Nations Championship Round 4 clash on Saturday. Fiji have lost all three of their Nations Championship matches at home and traveling to face France will prove a far sterner challenge, hence our prediction in favor of the hosts.
France fell by just two points away to New Zealand in their Nations Championship opener before responding strongly with consecutive victories in their final two matches in the first phase. Maxime Lamothe scored two tries while Maxime Lucu also crossed the try line and added 10 from the tee to inspire France to a thumping 42–15 away victory over Japan in their last match.
That result saw the Blues climb to second in the Northern Conference standings on 12 points – three behind leaders Ireland. They have won their last five Tests on French soil and will be looking to extend that record on Saturday.
Fiji are rock bottom of the Southern Conference standings with 0 points, having lost all three of their first-phase matches at home, including a 33–17 defeat to Scotland in their last outing before the break.
The Flying Fijians edged Japan 34–28 in their most recent Test but will face a more difficult task traveling to face France on Saturday. They have lost their last two Tests against the Blues.
