Chinese Grand Prix Predictions & Betting tips - Formule 1
by Devesh Jaganath |
After an eventful opening to the season, Formula 1 heads to Shanghai this week for the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday morning. Lando Norris leads the driver standings with 26 points, Max Verstappen is second with 24, and George Russell is in third place on 20. Let’s get into the race prediction.
McLaren secured their second consecutive pole in qualifying on Saturday when Oscar Piastri weathered challenging windy conditions to post a time of 1m 30.641s.
The Aussie outran the Mercedes of George Russell by less than a tenth of a second, forcing last week’s winner Lando Norris to settle for a spot on the second row.
Four-time champion Max Verstappen had a second consecutive underwhelming qualifying run in fourth, while Lewis Hamilton finished fifth - one ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc - after claiming his maiden Sprint victory on Friday.
Isack Hadjar was arguably the most impressive in Q2 though, securing P7 for the Racing Bulls, while his teammate Yuki Tsunoda took P9, either side of Kim Antonelli’s Mercedes. Alex Albon rounded out the top 10.
Unfortunately, Liam Lawson’s tough start to life at Red Bull continued as he was the slowest of all 20 drivers during qualifying and will have to make inroads from the back of the grid.

Our Chinese Grand Prix - Formule 1 prediction
Shortly after qualifying, defending Drivers’ Champion Max Verstappen conceded that winning this race would be difficult, and challenging McLaren this season would certainly not be easy.
However, the champ fought adversity in treacherous conditions last week and managed to hold off Lewis Hamilton in Q2 despite the latter’s heroics in the Sprint this weekend. It should be a close race but we fancy the Red Bull ace to claim a step on the podium. Our Chinese Grand Prix prediction is Max Verstappen podium finish.
