Fiorentina have not beaten any team above them on the standings this season and for a team with big targets, that should be a real cause for concern. They have managed to pick just a point in four matches against the teams above them on the standings but credit to them, they haven’t fluffed their lines in the meetings with the lesser teams, beating Atalanta, SPAL, Chievo and Udinese. Fiorentina’s home run places them at an advantage in this clash, with the team having won each of the four home matches and kept clean sheets in the last three. They have scored 12 goals in the home matches in Serie A this season and conceded just one goal. Cagliari, on the other hand, have managed just one win in the four away league matches this season, and they have lost the other three, conceding two goals in each. In fact, in their last 10 away league matches, Cagliari have lost seven and won just three. Cagliari have however picked two wins in their last three visits to Fiorentina and this is one aspect they will be banking on but they have lost four times to Fiorentina in the last six meetings and only managed one clean sheet in the last six meetings.
