World No. 9 Fiji and sixth-ranked England lock horns in Round 2 of the Nations Championship on Saturday at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Liverpool. England, with a formidable 18–0–2 record against lower-ranked teams, come into this contest as favorites against a Fiji side that has struggled against opponents in the top eight, hence our prediction supporting England.
Fiji and England have found themselves bottom of the standings in their respective Nations Championship conferences after setbacks in the opening week. England collapsed to the biggest defeat in the opening round against World No. 1 South Africa in Johannesburg, further piling pressure on head coach Steve Borthwick to warn the team's dwindling fortunes dating back to the 2026 Six Nations.
A win for lower-ranked Fiji here could be the final straw that will break the camel's back, with the 46-year-old's job already under intense scrutiny after last week's whitewash in Johannesburg. However, the Flying Fijians have struggled in previous meetings with England and are clear underdogs against an England side that has consistently dominated lower-ranked opposition. Can they take advantage of England's recent dip in form to spring a major upset? Stay with us as we examine further.

Fiji - England: Form Analysis
Fiji initially appeared poised for a competitive contest against Wales in their Nations Championship opener last week, holding the dragons to a 10–10 draw at the interval. However a late slip-up in the second half eventually saw them collapsed to 39–24 defeat.
They have now lost three of their last four Tests by double digits and suffered defeats in seven of their last nine matchups with higher-ranked teams. Despite being seeded as the home team, Senirusi Seruvakula's side will be at a clear disadvantage with the match played on English soil. They have lost all six subsequent away Tests against higher-ranked opposition since a shock 30–22 victory over England in 2023 in Twickenham in London (excluding the 2023 World Cup).
England's last three fixtures have all been separated by three points or fewer at halftime
England fell to six straight Test defeats after their 45–21 loss to South Africa in the opening round. Prior to this unsightly dip, they had won their previous 12 Tests. Steve Borthwick will hope to lead the team to their first win since February 2026.
They have won 18 of their last 20 matches against lower-ranked teams. Moreover, the European giants have prevailed in six of their previous seven meetings with Fiji and will enjoy the backing of the home crowd in Liverpool.

Fiji & England Squad Analysis
Senirusi Seruvakula has tweaked Fiji's lineup heavily after last week's defeat, with nine new names in the starting XV. Dragons' prop Mesake Doge is set for his 20th international appearance for the team, replacing injured Tim Hoyt. Temo Mayanavanua has been dropped at lock for 11-cap Tevita Ratuva.
Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula is axed off at fly-half for Caleb Muntz, with Levani Botia stepping in for Pita-Gus Sowakula at No. 8. Kalaveti Ravouvou has been given the nod to stand in at outside center for Semi Radradra, who is out with an ankle injury. Captain Tevita Ikanivere leads the list of six players retaining their places, including Eroni Mawi and Isoa Nasilasila.
Immanuel Feyi-Waboso has scored 35 Test points in 13 appearances for England
Steve Borthwick has retained 13 players in the England setup that started the opener against South Africa, making just two changes. Exeter Chiefs' prolific center Henry Slade made a substitute appearance last week, but will start at outside center tomorrow. This means Tommy Freeman will retreat back to the right wing, forcing Will Muir out of the starting lineup.
Immanuel Feyi-Waboso had a quiet outing against South Africa, but remains a potent attacking threat in the England lineup with nine tries in his last 14 international Tests. Captain Jamie George will anchor the front row alongside Ellis Genge and Joe Heyes.
