England vs France Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Steve Ashfield | in World Cup Prediction
Not since 1962 has a country successfully defended the World Cup. France continue their bid to buck that trend when facing England in the 2022 World Cup quarter finals. This is a much anticipated game on both sides of the English Channel and around the globe. France have been impressive when playing a full strength line-up with Mbappe and Giroud having scored eight goals between them. They have their work cut out against an English team that has already scored 12 goals in this tournament and kept three consecutive clean sheets. This could be a game that is decided by a brilliant display from one particular player. Will it be Mbappe or perhaps Kane?Limited Offer. Currently at DraftKings

England - France: Form Analysis
France have won three of their four games in this tournament. They have had group wins over Australia, Denmark and in the last 16 France beat Poland. Tunisia beat France in the final group game but the French side left their key players on the bench. France are yet to keep a clean sheet and both teams have scored in three of their four matches played in Qatar. Of 12 games played this year, France have won six with four losses and two draws. The loss to Tunisia is the only one they have suffered in their last 11 matches in the World Cup finals.
England are unbeaten in this tournament with three wins over Iran, Wales and Senegal and a draw with the USA. 12 goals have been scored by them with at least three goals scored in three of their four matches. This is by far the best form that England have shown in the past six months. Their Nations League campaign saw England draw three games and lose the same amount. Fans must be wondering where all the goals have come from in their last five fixtures. The five played before a 3-3 draw with Germany had seen England fail to score from open play.

Our England vs France Prediction
This looks like being the match of the round in the World Cup quarter finals. English hopes weren't that high when their team arrived in Qatar. They'd been relegated in the Nations League and put in some very disappointing performances. There was a lack of goals too but that has all changed in this tournament. 12 goals have been scored in four games and one of those was a goalless draw! England may be the slight underdogs in this game but they have no reason to be scared of their opponents. They have never lost to France in the World Cup and beat them on their way to winning the trophy in 1966. The worry that English fans have is that their team will put in a performance like the one against the USA. Then there's the fact that they could have had very different results against the Americans and Senegal if their opponents had taken the chances they created.
France haven't had a fantastic 2022 and had to battle to avoid relegation in the Nations League. They have improved in the second half of the year and have impressed in this tournament. The loss to Tunisia can be ignored, that just proved they haven't got the strongest of squads. Keeping a clean sheet is not one of their strong points. None have been kept in this World Cup even when playing their strongest available line-up. Our prediction for this England v France match is both teams to score.
