The Detroit Pistons will be at home to welcome the Charlotte Hornets for their next NBA regular season fixture. Five and a half games separate the two in the Eastern Conference standings with Charlotte in 13th having the advantage over bottom-placed Detroit. The Pistons have won the first two meetings of this three-game regular season matchup with the Hornets. Monthy Williams’ men won 111-99 in Charlotte back in October to earn their first win of the season. They would win again slightly over a month ago at home 113-106 and will be confident of a clean sweep here. Detroit possess the worst record in the NBA as they have lost 53 of the 63 matches they have played. After securing a 118-112 win over the Nets to end a three-game skid, the Pistons were thrashed last time out. They were defeated 142-124 at home by the Mavericks. Detroit have however seen their scoring go up in recent matches and this has been a big positive. They have averaged 117.3 points over their last three matches and this is five more points than their season average. Quentin Grimes is a doubt for this game with a knee problem.

The Hornets are faring much worse health wise than their hosts and have six players ruled out for this game. Tre Mann, Seth Curry, Mark Williams, Bryce McGowens, Cody Martin, and LaMelo Ball are all nursing injuries. But as the visitors are coming off a win, they will fancy their chances here despite their injury concerns. Steve Clifford’s men defeated the Nets 110-99 at home to end a six-match losing streak. This was their 16th win of the campaign. Charlotte have also found it hard to win games this season and at the moment possess the fourth-worst record in the league. The Hornets have lost 31 times to fellow East teams and 25 of their 48 losses have come on the road. They sit in the bottom 10 in both offence and defence and are averaging 107.2 points a game. This tally has however taken a big hit recently as in their last three matches, Charlotte have averaged 99.7 points.
