Two of the NBA’s worst teams lock horns on Wednesday with the Charlotte Hornets hosting the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons sit rock-bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with four wins and 39 defeats. The Hornets are just above them in 13th with a 10-31 record. After beating the Wizard's last week, Detroit has now gone on to lose three in a row. Their most recent outings included a pair of games against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Pistons would fight valiantly in those performances, losing the first 141-135 before falling 122-113 in their most recent outing. They should be getting their star point guard Cade Cunningham back for this game after the 22-year-old has missed the last seven consecutive games. Detroit should feel confident of getting a win here as one of their four victories this campaign came against the Hornets when the two faced off in the second game of the regular season.

New Orleans comes into this contest after a brilliant win over the Timberwolves. Despite being double-digit underdogs, the Hornets ran out 128-125 winners against the Western Conference’s top-seeded team on Monday. It was their second win in the last three after also beating the Spurs last Friday. Charlotte has struggled immensely on the defensive this season and are the lowest ranked team in terms of adjusted defensive rating. In addition, they are allowing the highest opponent effective field goal percentage at 57.8% and are the only team in the league to be allowing their opponents to shoot above 40% from three-point range. Charlotte ranks dead-last in adjusted net rating and is allowing 121.5 points per game on the road.
