The Denver Nuggets host the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Pepsi Center for this Western Conference NBA clash. This will be the second time that these two teams meet in the last two days after meeting on the 5th of February. The Timberwolves walked away with a 128-98 home victory on that occasion but will now have to contend with a rested Nuggets team at their home court. The Western Conference leading Nuggets chose to rest star players Jamal Murray and the two-time defending MVP Nikola Jokic in the first of this two-legged affair in Minnesota, seemingly with an eye on the return to Denver on Tuesday night. The Nuggets sit atop the West standings with a record of 37 wins and 17 losses, giving them a solid 4.5 game lead over the second-place Grizzlies. Denver has really stood out on their home court this season, recording an impressive 25 wins from 29 outings at the Pepsi Center. 

Minnesota, on the other hand, are hoping to continue what has been an overall positive run of form for the young team. The TWolves have won seven of their last 10 games following the recent win against Denver, but they’ve managed to split their last four home games 2-2. Consistency has been somewhat of a problem for Minnesota this year as they sit eighth in the standings with a record of 29 wins and 27 losses. Away from home has been a huge struggle all season for this squad as they are looking at a winning percentage of just 37.5% on the road after winning just nine of their 24 total outings. Things certainly won’t get any easier for them here as they’ll have to contend with arguably the NBA’s best home team in what is a clear revenge spot with their two star players having a few extra days of rest.
