A heavyweight showdown in the NBA on Saturday night sees a heavyweight showdown with the Denver Nuggets hosting the Milwaukee Bucks at the Pepsi Center. In a match that many will be billing as a potential NBA Finals preview, the Nuggets and Bucks come into this game as the leaders of their respective conferences. Denver, with a 49 win, 24 loss record, holds a 3.5 game lead over the Grizzlies for the top spot in the West. They will be out for their third win in a row after disposing of the Washington Wizards on the road 118-104 in the team’s most recent outing on Tuesday. The Nuggets will also have a significant rest advantage with three days in between their game against the Wizards and this clash with Milwaukee. The Bucks, on the other hand, will be playing one of the toughest back-to-back sequences in the NBA. 

Milwaukee will have to deal with two of the toughest arenas to play in on consecutive nights. The Bucks were, however, able to cruise to a blowout 144-116 victory over the Jazz on Friday night but will now have to contend with Denver’s phenomenal home record. The Bucks are starting to pull away atop the Eastern Conference with their latest win now giving them a 2.5 game lead over the Boston Celtics. Milwaukee now holds a record of 53 wins and 20 losses which is the best mark in the NBA. They have won their last three games in a row and eight of their last 10 overall. The Bucks have been one of the NBA’s best away teams this season with a record of 23 wins and 13 defeats on the road. They’ve also been exceptionally good this season when playing the second game of a back-to-back.
