The Dallas Mavericks will be at home for their third NBA regular season matchup with the Utah Jazz. They are currently seventh in the Western Conference while the Jazz are 12th. Dallas will seek to boost their chances for automatic playoff qualification with a win here. Jason Kidd’s men have compiled a 40-29 record and are half a game from the top six. They are however tied with eighth-placed Phoenix and failure to win here could see them drop deeper into the play-in places. The Mavericks have won six of their last seven games and defeated the Spurs 113-107 last time out. They also emphatically defeated the Jazz, winning by 50 in the first meeting of the season between the two. Another win here will see them lead this series 2-1 heading into the final matchup. Josh Green has been ruled out of this game with an ankle problem. The Mavs have averaged 113 points over their last three games.

The Jazz have continued to lose ground in the race for playoff qualification. Will Hardy’s men have dropped to 7.5 games from the play-in places. They have lost 17 times in their last 22 outings and are currently on a three-game skid. Utah were defeated 119-107 last time out away to the Thunder on the first night of a scheduled back-to-back. This was their 40th loss of the campaign and left them 11 games below .500. The Jazz avenged their huge loss to the Mavs by producing a big win of their own in this series. They won by 37 the last time both teams met, which was back in January. Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson combined for 37 on that night but the two will be unavailable for this trip due to injuries.
