A Western Conference battle awaits when the eighth-place Dallas Mavericks welcome the 10th-placed Golden State Warriors to town. The playoff race is heating up with teams jockeying for an automatic qualification spot or potential entry through the play-in tournament. As things stand now, both Dallas and Golden Stage would have to take part in the play-in. The Mavericks are 37-28 on the season, giving them a 2.5 game lead over their opponents today and trailing the top six by just one game. Dallas is coming off a dominant 127-92 home victory over the Bulls on Monday, marking their third win in a row. Luka Doncic was his normal phenomenal self, posting his seventh consecutive triple double with 27 points, 14 assists and 12 rebounds. However, his 27 points meant the end to Slovenian’s record breaking run of five consecutive 35+ point triple doubles. 

The Warriors will be without talisman Stephen Curry for a third consecutive game in this one. Golden State is 1-1 since Curry went down and just 1-4 without the legendary sharpshooter in the 2023/24 season. That sole victory came in the team’s most recent outing which resulted in a 112-102 away win over the San Antonio Spurs. Jonathan Kuminga led the team in scoring with 22 points in the win over San Antonio while Klay Thompson chipped in another 21. Chris Paul was able to pick up a good portion of the slack left over in Curry’s absence with 19 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Dubs who have now moved to 34-30 on the year. This has Golden State planted in 10th-place with a one game deficit on the Lakers, a 2.5 game gap on Dallas and a 3.5 game gap on sixth-place Phoenix.
