The 11th-place Brooklyn Nets will look to get back to winning ways as they host the fifth-placed Philadelphia 76ers at the Barclays Center on Tuesday evening. The Nets are 24-37 on the year and chasing a play-in spot while the Sixers’ record of 35-25 has them battling for a spot in the top-six. The Nets were able to string together a couple of wins recently after beating the Grizzlies and the Hawks twice in the span of a week. However, a 106-102 home defeat to Memphis on Monday sees them now trying to close out this four-game homestand on a positive note. Brooklyn is still on the outside looking in when it comes to the postseason as their only chance at qualifying is through the play-in tournament. They trail 10th-place Atlanta by 2.5 games as we enter the final quarter of the NBA regular season.

The 76ers were able to pick up a much-needed 120-116 victory over the Dallas Mavericks to make it back-to-back wins. Philly was suffering after four defeats in five games but can build on their recent performances and will have an excellent shot to register their third victory in this game. The return of Kelly Oubre, the Sixers’ third-leading scorer since Embiid went down, proved to be pivotal as the 28-year-old dropped 21 points after missing the previous game vs the Hornets. The visitors now hold a slim half game lead over the Magic and a one game lead over the seventh-place Heat. With Embiid likely to be ready in time for the playoffs, the goal for Philadelphia will simply be to keep their heads above water and avoid the play-in tournament.
