The Boston Celtics will be at home to welcome the LA Lakers looking for their second NBA victory over them this season. Boston currently tops the Eastern Conference standings while the Lakers are ninth in the West. The Celtics won the first matchup of the season with LA back in December. It was their third successive win in this fixture which should have them confident of taking the series here. Joe Mazzulla’s men have won their last two matches, bouncing back from a home defeat by the Clippers. That was only their second defeat in 24 outings at the Boston Garden. The Celtics are coming off a 129-124 victory over the Pacers. Their 37th victory of the season, moved them 4.5 games clear of their closest challengers in the conference. Boston comes into this match in almost perfect shape healthwise as only Luke Kornet is on the injury report.

The Lakers have been plagued by injuries and for this match could be without four players. Cam Reddish and Gabe Vincent have both been ruled out once again. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are again listed as ‘Questionable’ as they are managing ankle and Achilles issues respectively. Coupling this with the team’s inconsistencies, this could be yet another tough outing for the 17-time NBA champions. The Lakers, who are in the middle of a six-game road trip. have lost their last two matches. They were defeated 138-122 last time out to the Hawks. This was the fourth game in a row that they had given up over 130 points. Darvin Ham’s men, who have lost 17 of 24 away matches, are now one game below .500.
