The marquee matchup of Saturday’s NBA slate sees the Eastern Conference leading Celtics hosting the red-hot third-place Clippers from the Western Conference. Boston’s 35-10 record is the best in the league and they currently hold a four game lead over the Bucks in second. They come into this game off the back of three straight wins, the most recent of which was against the Heat in a 143-110 blowout. The win capped a perfect 3-0 road trip for the Celtics who now return to the TD Garden where they have been almost faultless so far this campaign. Boston has recorded 20 wins in their 21 outings in front of the home fans with their only defeat coming against the defending champion Nuggets by a score of 102-100. This will be the first home game the Celtics have played since the defeat and they have an opportunity to make a real statement if they were to walk away with a comprehensive win.

The Clippers have been the single hottest team in the NBA since December 1st, 2023. In the past two months, Los Angeles has posted a 20-4 record which has seen them shoot up the standings to third in the Western Conference. This has them within striking distance of the top spot as they trail leaders OKC by just two games with their 29-14 record. They come into this difficult matchup having just ripped off a four game winning streak. Their most recent victory was a 20-point blowout win on the road over Toronto in a 127-107 game on Friday. It marked the fourth consecutive game that LA has scored 125 or more points. They’ll now put their skills to the test as they come up against the team that is ranked first in adjusted offensive rating and second in adjusted defensive rating.
