Boston Celtics host the Golden State Warriors with both teams looking to strenghten their postseason positions. The Celtics are third in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference with a 30-26 record, nine wins behind division and conference leaders, the Philadelphia 76ers. Overall, the Celtics are fifth in the Eastern Conference with an identical record to Atlanta Hawks in fourth but the latter are divisional leaders. The Celtics are in top form going into this game with a winning streak of five and seven wins in the last eight. The other of those eight matches was a loss to the 76ers. Home form for Boston has seen them win 17 of their 27 games with four of the last five won and that defeat by the 76ers.

The Golden State Warriors are down in fourth in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference with a 28-28 season record. That puts them ninth overall and they should be qualifying for the play-ins. The Warriors have an 11-18 record on the road but have won their last two away matches. They were against Cleveland and Okhlahoma, both fourth in their divisions and 71 defeats between them this season. The three away games before those two successes had both been lost. This is a much tougher task for them and it's the Celtics who can get the home win.
