The Golden State Warriors will look to wrestle home court advantage back from the Boston Celtics in game three of the NBA Finals.. The series, deadlocked at 1-1, heads to the TD Garden in Boston for games three and four before returning to San Francisco for game five. After the split at the Chase Center, the Warriors come into this one knowing they will have to eventually win a game in Boston if they are to win their fourth NBA title in the past eight years. Golden State bounced back with a convincing 107-88 victory in game two after dropping the first game of the series. It was truly a must-win for Golden State, as only 7% of teams that have fallen down 2-0 in an NBA playoff series have come back to win. The Warriors will hope to carry that momentum over into Boston as they take on a Celtics team that has been able to respond strongly throughout their run to the Finals.

One of the stories of this Celtics season has been their ability to make effective adjustments and respond strongly. Boston has yet to lose back-to-back games in the 2022 playoffs and are a perfect 6-0 after a loss. Celtics coach Ime Udoka has proven himself to be a top-level tactician despite this being his first year in a head coaching role and arguably has the edge in that department over Warriors coach Steve Kerr. With three full days to prepare, we expect Boston to come out with an improved gameplan and we should see them ultimately shoot better from the field. The Celtics couldn’t keep up their red-hot shooting as they finished only 37% from the field in game two compared to the 50% that they shot in the first game of the series.
