Two teams with contrasting form meet in League One this weekend. The Seasiders of Blackpool host the Latics, Wigan Athletic, in a match between a team that scores and concedes plenty of goals, against an opponent that does neither. This is going to be an interesting prediction on a match with two teams of such contrasting data this season!
Steve Bruce has come in at Blackpool and initially, things improved. A run of seven games without defeat saw Blackpool climb the table, but they have struggled recently, losing their last three.
That includes a 2-1 home loss to Barnsley last weekend and a 5-1 thrashing at Peterborough in midweek which left them 16th in the table.
In contrast, Shaun Maloney’s Wigan sit just two places and two points behind Blackpool, but their season has been vastly different. Wigan have struggled in their two most recent matches. First they were beaten 2-0 away to Cambridge last weekend and followed that up with a 2-1 home defeat to Mansfield in midweek.
