Great Britain's hopes of United Cup success were hit by the withdrawal of Jack Draper. He's been replaced by Billy Harris who takes on Shintaro Mochizuki as the British team begin their campaign against Japan. Read our match prediction below.
While Draper is a top 16 ranked player, Harris is down at 127th in the rankings. He had a 42-45 record last year but was 34-23 on outdoor hard courts which is the surface for this tournament. One outdoor hard court Challenger Tour title was won by the British player in 2025.
On the ATP Tour, Harris only made it past round two of a singles tournament once last year. That was on the grass courts of Eastbourne. He played in the 2025 United Cup but lost all three of his singles matches.
Shintaro Mochizuki is 11th in the live rankings and has already played one match in this tournament. Japan lost to Greece in their opening group match and Mochizuki was beaten in straight sets by Stefanos Tsitsipas.
That was his fourth successive defeat, the previous three being inflicted on the Challenger Tour. Only one of his last seven matches has been won. He did win a Challenger Tour tournament last year though.
We tip more than 22.5 games to be played.

Our Billy Harris vs Shintaro Mochizuki Prediction
Billy Harris didn't win a singles match in last year's United Cup and will hope to do better this time around. He replaces the injured Jack Draper and takes on Japan's Shintaro Mochizuki in his opening match.
Mochizuki lost against Stefanos Tsitsipas in Japan's opening group loss to Greece. He has lost his last four matches but a win here would keep alive Japan's qualification hopes. A long match looks likely and our Billy Harris v Shintaro Mochizuki prediction is more than 22.5 games.
