Calum MacRae’s team suffered a narrow 15–14 league defeat to Edinburgh in their most recent outing, but have won four of their last five matches. They have also turned Stadio Comunale di Monigo into a fortress against European opponents, winning their last six European games at the venue.
Dragons suffered a 41–17 defeat to USA Perpignan in their Challenge Cup opener and defeated Lyon Rugby 23–21 in their second match. They eased to a 28–5 league win over Scarlets in their most recent fixture.
However, the Newport-based outfit head into Saturday's matchup on the back of an 11-match losing run away from home, 10 of which by double digits. This includes wide-margin defeats in six of their last seven trips.
