In what should be the match of the week, Barcelona are home to PSG in the Champions League. Both of these clubs won their opening match in the league phase. Barça are 11th in the table and the defending champions second. Time for our match prediction.
This is the first home game in the league phase for Barça. The La Liga leaders began their campaign with a 2-1 away win at Premier League Newcastle United. Following this match, they have another home game in matchday three as they host Olympiacos. That should be an easier game than this match against the club that finally won the Champions League last season and then reached the Club World Cup final.
PSG got their defence of the trophy off to a good start with a 4-0 home win over Atalanta. Again they are top of Ligue 1 (on goal difference from Lyon) and will want to get a good result at such a major rival as Barcelona.

Barcelona - PSG: Form Analysis
Barcelona went top of La Liga at the weekend. A 2-1 home win over Real Sociedad saw them climb above Real Madrid (who lost at Atletico) and go a point clear at the top of the table. Barça have won six of their seven league games this season, the other a draw at Rayo Vallecano.

All three of their home league games have been won this season with 11 goals scored and just one conceded. They had a tough opening game in the league phase of this competition but won 2-1 at Newcastle. Barça come into this game having won each of their last five matches.
PSG are finally champions of Europe and nearly added the global title too during the summer. Like their opponents, the Parisians are top of their domestic league as they chase yet another Ligue 1 title.
The weekend saw them beat Auxerre 2-0 as they bounced back from a recent away league loss at Marseille. PSG beat Atalanta 4-0 in their opening league phase game and after this match travel to Bayer Leverkusen.
The Ligue 1 leaders have scored seven goals in their three away league games this season. However, six of those came away at Toulouse so they aren't quite firing on their travels just yet and need to be in Barcelona but as you'll read, they do not have a full-strength team.

Barcelona & PSG Squad Analysis
Lamine Yamal missed the Newcastle match but he has since returned to action for Barcelona. He played against Real Sociedad at the weekend coming on as a second half substitute. He quickly made an impact by setting up Robert Lewandowski's winner.
Barça do still have some injury problems and that includes Raphinha and Gavi. The continued absence of the former will mean loan signing Marcus Rashford will have another chance to start for his new club. He's already proved to be an important player for Barcelona.
Injuries pile up for PSG.
PSG have a number of players missing at present. Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele is still out with a hamstring injury and that is a major blow for the reigning European champions. The same applies to the fact their captain Marquinhos is out with a thigh injury.
The last thing PSG needed was more injuries but that's just what happened against Auxerre at the weekend. Both Vitinha and Kvaratskhelia sustained injuries in that game and are doubtful for this match.
