Third seed Barbora Krejcikova looks to extend her strong record against fourth seed Maria Sakkari as they meet in the Athens final. This will mark their fourth career meeting and the first since 2021. Krejcikova's placement as the favorite in this prediction is down to the fact she has never lost to Sakkari.

They last faced off in the semi-finals of the 2021 French Open, a tournament that Krejcikova would end up winning. To set up their next meeting, Krejcikova, who has been in terrific form in recent weeks, defeated top seed Clara Tauson. 

She won in three sets to confirm an 11th victory in her last 13 fixtures. An eight-time tour champion, Krejcikova, the world number 32, is seeking her first tour title since lifting the 2024 Wimbledon crown.

Maria Sakkari has a poor record in tour title matches, and will hope for better tidings in her first-ever final on home soil. The Greek star has lost eight of the 10 tour finals she has contested.

Sakkari, who was last crowned a tour champion three years ago, defeated Alina Korneeva in the semi-finals. She won in straight sets for the fourth successive match.

A former world number three, Sakkari has improved to 18 wins this calendar year and moved up to 33rd in the live ranking.
