Australia can get their 2023 Rugby World Cup campaign off to a winning start. They take on Georgia in Pool C and this will be followed by matches against Fiji, Wales and Portugal. The top two in this pool will go into the last eight with likely opponents either England or Argentina. The Wallabies do not come into this Rugby World Cup in good form. They are yet to win a match this year, their last victory being away to Wales in November of 2022. This year has seen them lose all three of their Rugby Championship matches against New Zealand, Argentina (by three points) and world champions South Africa . Since then they have played two friends and been beaten by New Zealand (after leading 17-3) and Australia.

Their European opponents have only faced Australia once and lost to them by 19 points. They have never made it out of the pool stage in the Rugby World Cup, winning just five of their 20 matches played. Three of those wins came in 2015 and 2019. They have been dominating the Europe Championships that are held between the lower ranked teams each year. Georgia have won that competition in 11 of the past 12 years and each of the annual tournaments since 2018 without losing a game. Beating Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania and Portugal doesn't mean they can take on and get a win against Australia. We go for Australia to win this on a - handicap.
